History

Here is the history of AFREX, which has experienced continuous growth since its founding.

March 1930 Arai Manufacturing is founded by Osamu Arai in Naniwa-ku, Osaka.
August 1967 Production of heat exchangers begins.
June 1968 A corporation is established through the merger of Arai Manufacturing and Arai Metal Industry. The corporation is named Arai Manufacturing, Inc.
August 1987 The capital of Arai Manufacturing, Inc. is increased to 39.6 million yen.
December 1993 A factory is constructed in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China. Arai Manufacturing (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd. is established.
December 1995 A factory is constructed in Shanghai, China. Arai Manufacturing (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is established.
February 2001 An air-conditioner production line is newly established at Arai Manufacturing (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd., Guangdong, China.
September 2003 Production of a heat exchanger with GHP Ф7 begins.
June 2004 ISO14001 certification is obtained.
December 2004 Arai Electric Manufacture (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is established in Shanghai, China.
June 2007 Arai Yachung Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is established in Shanghai, China.
February 2010 A condensing unit is developed.
May 2010 Production of V-Eco and R-Eco begins.
May 2011 Hiroshi Hashimoto is appointed President and Representative Director.
January 2012 The company name is changed to AFREX Co., Ltd. The management policy is renewed.
February 2013 The names of the four companies in China are changed.
February 2014 A cooling unit for a rice cooling box is developed.
March 2014 A heat exchanger with new GHP Ф7 is developed.
August 2015 Takeshi Matsunaga is appointed Representative Director.
October 2015 A unit cooler is developed.
June 2017 Production of A-Eco (an aluminum heat exchanger) begins.
August 2018 The AFREX R&D Center is established in Hishiki, Nishi-ku, Sakai, Osaka, Japan, as a global development base.
October 2019 The SBU system is introduced.
November 2019 Factory No. 2 is constructed at AFREX Manufacturing (Zhongshan) Co., LTD.
March 2019 A cooling unit for water coolers is developed.
January 2020 The ex-Room is newly established at the R&D Center.
August 2020 An inverter condensing unit is developed.
April 2021 Capital participation in Ishii Kogyo Co., Ltd.
June 2021 The two companies in Shanghai, China, are relocated.
April 2022 AFREX (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is established. Takashima Demonstration Factory is established.
July 2022 Takeshi Matsunaga is appointed Chairman and Representative Director. Michio Masuda is appointed President and Representative Director.
